Kristin brought by her F.W. Evans for a repaint. We think it turned out quite nice.
We also repainted one of our Demo bikes so that Mari could use it for her learn to ride seminars.
We’ve been busy getting a bunch of wheels ready for upcoming builds. Building wheels in a shop environment such as ours sometimes poses a bit of a problem as you’ll happily be building a wheel, listening for the little indicator rubbing on the rim and all of a sudden someone will turn on a mill or the compressor will fire up and all your hard work comes to a grinding halt. As such i tend to lace wheels during the day and then build them in the evenings when it’s nice and quiet. Pictured above are a set of Phil Wood High Flange Track hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro Rims.
And here we have a set of Campy Centaur hubs laced with Revolution Spokes to DT Swiss RR 1.2 Rims. Both are laced and just waiting to be brought up to tension and trued.
Rob took delivery on his new 29er frame the other day. Rob is over 200 pounds and rides hard and has subsequently broken a few frames and many bike parts in his day. We’re pretty sure this frame will stand up to whatever he throws at it.

I apologize for the blog being a little quiet as of late. Hugh entrusts me to keep it up to date but when i take off to wrench for teams i tend to let it slide a little. I just got back from Road Nationals with Team Ontario and it was pretty successful to say the least. Lots of podiums, lots of top 10s, plenty of personal bests and just enough mechanical predicaments to keep things interesting. Here we have a picture of some last minute ‘adjustments’ on Ed Veal’s time trial bike. UCI rules are pretty strict on measurements and when you find you can adjust a bike no further a hacksaw usually works just fine.

I’ll leave you with a picture of myself and the 2009 Junior Men’s Road race champion Kevin Massicotte. Kev snuck into a break with 10 km to go and took the win and a exciting two-up sprint finish. Word on the street is that Road Nationals in 2011 and 2012 will be held on the Snake Road Course in Burlington, Ontario. That’s less than 50km from the shop. Time to get training.
