As always, we have lots going on at the shop this week. We’re building a bunch of frames, putting the finishing touches on some complete builds and stripping, repairing and repainting a few frames.

Here is a head tube in the jig. Eventually this will be come a new 29er mountain bike frame.

At any given time one of our three mills is usually humming along; mitering tubes for the next frame to be built.

As it is the end of the year, many people are getting the jump start on their winter projects and for many that winter project includes repainting and possibly repairing their old frame. We’ve had a few older mountain bike frames in to get disc brake mounts and we’ve had a few really old frames in to get repainted. Pictured above is an old CCM frame that we’ve stripped and will be powdercoating black. This frame was quite the ordeal to strip as it had been painted several times right over the existing paint. This time we made sure it was done right, stripping it right down to the bare metal. I’ll be sure to post a photo when it’s all done. If you have an older project bike you’re thinking of building up this winter; whether it be a road frame, fixie, mountain bike or old retro townie like this CCM, give us a call. Stripping and repainting services are available and there’s nothing like a fresh coat of paint to get your winter project underway.
