The blog has been on hiatus for the last two weeks and i must apologize. While Hugh and Sean2 were toiling away at the shop I was off in Europe working with the National team at two Mountain Bike World Cups. A lot happens in two weeks so I’ll attempt to summarize it as nicely as i can. Check out our Flickr site for more photos.
We got Francis’ Ti road bike out the door. Francis is just under 5 feet tall, so finding a road bike that fit her was quite the challenge. This frame was designed around 650c wheels and features Ultegra SL components and Mavic Ksyrium wheels.
John stopped by and picked up his Sport touring bike built around Campy Chorus components and long reach brakes. This bike was finished in time for the Toronto Bike show but we had not yet etched the logo on the frame.
The etched logo not only looks sharp but is quite durable. John’s bike is quite versatile in that he can ride the bike with racks, panniers and fenders or he can strip it all down and go out for a fast road ride.
Peter’s 29er frame also went out the door. This frame was designed to capable of off-road loaded touring or ripping up the singletrack. The powder coated flame paint job is both super sharp and super durable.
Hugh recently decided to pitch in and help with the garbage removal day. With a group of friends they managed to clear 14 bags of garbage out of a local park. Normally 14 bags is a lot of garbage to carry, but when you have a cargo bike and a trailer it makes it a bit easier.
A picture of the crew and their accomplishments.
While all this was going on at the shop, i spent some time in the epicenter of cycling.

In addition to the Canadians who headed over to compete with their professional teams, the Canadian Cycling Association decided to send a group of up-and-comers to get more experience racing on the world stage. (L-R Canadian National Mountain Bike Coach Dan Proulx, MC Surpenant, Jean Ann McKirdy, Sandra Walter, Mical Dyck, Adam Morka, me)
In addition to taking care of the bikes for two weeks i got to fulfill a life long dream of eating Black Forest cake while in the actual Black Forest. I should note that Black Forest cake does not grow on trees in the greater Black Forest area and it’s actually easier to find yourself a slice of cheesecake in most cases.
Team bikes washed, tuned and ready to go.
